Sneak Peak: Music for Episode 201

The image features the musicians of London Symphony Orchestra. No, we didn’t get them to record the music for us, but maybe someday.
Season two is going to add music to our episodes, themes that will highlight the action. As a preview to what to expect, I thought I’d share some of the themes you might hear in episode 201. As the podcast is set in the 1890’s I thought it would be appropriate to have themes played by an orchestra.

Season Two Begins with Multiple Characters Reappearing

In Buddhism, this makes perfect sense because: All things existing at once – there is no time.

Season Two begins by bringing back some characters we have met before. In Episode 6 we met “The Stranger,” who introduced us to the Charges d’ affairs. The, in Episode 9, we met the daoist Wei Boyang. Both of these characters return in Episode 1 of Season Two.

Preparing for Season Two – leitmotifs

We want to take season two to new levels in many ways. Eddie Louise is working on an overall story arc for the season. We will be adding some additional video content about Abigail, and new information is coming about the Charges du Faire (and the Narrator’s role in the organization). Music is something we want to have more of as well, not just new featured artists, but thematic music to help set the mood.

Does Dr Sage Actually Travel Through Time?

In The Tales of Sage & Savant, Dr. Sage and Professor Savant send their conscious minds through time and space to inhabit other bodies. They retain those experiences when they return to their own bodies. Part of our theory behind this mode of time travel is the current theory that thoughts are quantum objects rather than physical aspects chained to the cerebral matter of our brains. Recent tests have aimed at proving quantum objects can travel through time. Therefore if thoughts are quantum, they would also be able to travel through time. This is great fodder for Science Fiction!

Wake Up and Chat with Ian MacLeod

Ian R. MacLeod is the acclaimed writer of challenging and innovative speculative and fantastic fiction. His most recent novel, Wake Up and Dream, won the Sidewise Award for Alternate History, while his previous works have won the Arthur C. Clarke Award, the John W. Campbell Memorial Award, and the World Fantasy Award, and have been translated into many languages. MacLeod grew up in the West Midlands region of England, studied law, and spent time working and dreaming in the civil service before moving on to teaching and house-husbandry.
